Behind the Work
My name is Mariana Bohorquez.
I’m an industrial designer with a background in furniture and graphic design, working at the intersection of form, function, and visual identity.
This portfolio presents a curated selection of projects approved for public release, highlighting my approach to user-focused design, material exploration, and thoughtful problem-solving.
GUB Blenders
Gub Blenders reposition the blades to the top of the container to improve safety and simplify cleaning.
User studies showed a strong hesitation to place hands near conventional blade assemblies, making this a targeted solution to a real usability and safety issue.
The Hugo Chair
The Hugo Chair was developed through an exploration of soft curves, bringing warmth and to a rigid material.
The design balances structural integrity with expressive form, resulting in a chair that feels both sculptural and inviting.
